artists’ guild

formerly known as
Community Art Night

**Due to the pandemic, Community Art Night took an extended hiatus starting in March 2020. I am happy to say that we will be returning (as the Artists’ Guild) to the Fremont Abbey on the Third Sunday of every month, starting 3/17/2024!

Interested in meeting your neighbors, exploring new mediums, getting crafty, and making a mess? Come join us in the Gallery space downstairs at the Abbey for community-building and artmaking! Art supplies will be provided for impromptu mixed-media creations (paper, markers, crayons, scissors, glue, collage materials, etc.). Feel free to bring extra supplies or a snack, but nothing is needed except yourself and a creative attitude. We will talk about what it means to be an artist and to create in the world, and share ideas, projects, and inspiration. Art is for everybody!

  • Now meeting third Sundays @ 3pm-4:30pm at the fremont abbey!

4272 Fremont Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103 - downstairs (enter on 43rd Street side)

  • ALSO ON ZOOM! JOIN VIRTUALLY TO CREATE IN YOUR OWN SPACE, SIMULTANEOUSLY. (link will be posted here in advance)

  • Artists’ Guild meets prior to COTA Sunday services, but Artists’ Guild is a non-religious event. COTA (Church of the Apostles) is the owner and community steward of the Fremont Abbey, which is occupied the rest of the week by the independent nonprofit Fremont Abbey Arts Center. COTA is a welcoming and affirming community, full of awesome people, and not your average church (for more information visit https://www.apostleschurch.org).

  • RSVPs (alexia.makes.art@gmail.com) are appreciated, but not required. Children are always welcome, as long as they are supervised.

  • Have an idea about other locations that may want to host art nights, or want to volunteer to help set up or bring supplies? Contact me!

  • NOTE: Art Night is no longer being held on Second Fridays @ Seattle ReCreative in Greenwood due to capacity issues. They are still awesome; go check out their recycled art store or visit www.seattlerecreative.org for classes, workshops, and ways to get involved. Stop by during the PhinneyWood Art Walk on Second Fridays — I might see you there!

Artists’ Guild/Community Art Night is always free and open to the public. Donations for supplies and/or to support our nonprofit partners (hosts) are gratefully accepted. Fremont Abbey Arts Center and Seattle ReCreative are independent nonprofit 501c3 organizations and donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law. Donations directly to Community Art Night support me as an individual to purchase and provide supplies.
